Community Economic Ventures (CEVI)

Community Economic Ventures, Inc. (CEVI) was first conceptualized in 1998 in response to the need for livelihood among families in the Bohol province in the Philippines. Under the World Vision Development Foundation (WVDF), CEVI engaged in income-generating projects to help improve the economic conditions of their poor clients. CEVI later transitioned into a micro-enterprise development program in order to offer more dynamic and sustainable programs.

In 2000, CEVI was registered as a non-stock, non-profit, non-governmental organization (NGO). CEVI formed to respond to the needs of micro-entrepreneurs, to “serve the economically active poor by providing appropriate and quality microfinance products and services to help their business grow.”
CEVI provides better alternatives to access credit, build up capital, micro-insurance, and savings and also extends consultancy services and trainings to its clients as part of the Credit Plus Education Program.

Since its inception 10 years ago, CEVI has established microfinance services in 12 provinces and cities across the Philippines, for a total of 26 branches.

Vision: “People experiencing fullness of life.”

Mission: “As a sustainable Microfinance Institution, we follow Jesus in promoting transformation in the lives of poor families and communities through the provision of appropriate microfinance services with values formation, training and consultancy. ”
